Personal and Private Chef Services have been around for a long time but for many of you, this is a new concept. Below are a few questions that I hear most often from clients.
What is a “Personal Chef”?
A Personal Chef in my case is a classically trained certified Chef. I provide culinary services to you based on your needs and desires. Because I am cooking for you and your family and delivering to your home, it is your menu, your day, your choices. It’s specifically designed with you in mind; the possibilities are endless.
Why choose you instead of eating out or cooking dinner?
This may be a question only you can answer, but it does in turn explain the gaining popularity of hiring personal Chefs.
There are many benefits to my Chef services; the most important is convenience. I take all the “work” out of deciding on what’s for dinner. I plan, prepare, shop and deliver to your door. I plan those meals with you according to your preferences and feedback each week.
Stress-free dinner time means simply taking the entrée and sides out of the refrigerator and heating them up (I provide warming instructions) and serve. No pots and pans to wash, and you can spend time that you save with the ones that matter most.

The quick answer is I meet with you and discuss the foods you like and don’t like, the day of the week you would like delivery, and when you would like the service to begin.
How much does it cost?
This all depends on the 1 of 3 packages you choose from the Service Plans page.
How is your pricing determined?
Some Personal Chefs charge by the hour and then add food costs, mileage etc. That means that every week might be a different price. I charge a flat-rate that is all inclusive. I simplify your life by making it easier to budget and convenient. No surprises, hidden fees or extra charges.
How are you different from other Chefs in your field?
I attended Johnson and Wales University and received my Culinary Arts Degree with Honors. I am a member of the U.S. Personal Chef’s Association, and have worked in a wide range of the food service industry. My personal and professional experience gives me the knowledge and ability to customize your menus and make you delicious food. I keep my food safety certification up to date so that my clients are safe.
I do use standardized recipes, however I use my knowledge combined with your input to give you more variety and flexibility. I can even accommodate you by cooking “an old family favorite” and keep your recipe secret. My recipes are not secret and you can request them any time.
Is there a contract to sign?
No. You will not be locked into one of my service plans or length of service. You pay per delivery, one week in advance and can stop the service any time. You will not be charged if you go on vacation or take a break and wish to continue at a later time.
Where are the meals prepared?
On-site at the clients home. I find that some of my clients’ kitchens are not equipped to provide the safe, expert culinary results that I can achieve in a commercial kitchen. Therefore, I may provide the necessary equipment to ensure proper food handling and may utilize a fully inspected off site kitchen for prep work.
Where do you shop for the ingredients?
I shop for my clients every day at grocery stores specializing in organic, local and specialty items. Farmer’s markets when in season, and some online companies for gluten-free items and spices.
How is my food packaged for delivery?
I use high quality Pyrex dishes that hold 1 to 4 servings and can be heated in the microwave or oven. Dishwasher safe, so you don’t even have dishes to wash. A more in depth description and pictures can be found on the Service plan page.
Are you insured?
Yes! I carry liability insurance and I am certified in food safety and handling (Servsafe) for your protection which is very important to me. I can provide a copy for you upon request. Your safety and health are my #1 priority.
