Hello! I’m Chef Laura Hahnes. Born and raised in NJ, food has always been a part of my life. Coming from a large Irish/Italian family, food was the focus, the obsession and the passion at every gathering.
I gladly served in the United States Navy for 4 years, stationed in Charleston, SC. I then went to Johnson & Wales University to study Culinary Arts. I earned my degree with honors in 1995.
The next phase in my life was to live in Ireland cooking my way from Dublin to Limerick. I returned home and pursued a career in Food Sales for a French import company to take a break from the long hours. In that time I got married and had 2 kids. I returned to my calling to work in a corporate cafeteria of a major bank headquarters.
After 9/11 my family and I decided to move to Kentucky where I tried my hand at Private school dining service. I stayed there for 7 years and loved it. I thought I was missing the adrenaline of restaurant life so I went back to running a restaurant in a prominent hotel in Lexington. It was not long before I realized my family was more important than my career. Like many of you, I understand the importance of eating dinner with my family and how in the blink of an eye, the kids are grown.
My family has grown by one and I’m living the dream of being my own boss and giving people the opportunity to “get back to the table” with their family.
I have over 25 years experience in food service and look forward to bringing delicious food from my kitchen to yours.
